| The ugliest clip ever:
Partial Veilside facia. If someone wants it, I’ll make them a good deal, LOL.

Once I got the engine on the stand and started tearing into it, I found out it had horrible leakage on the right bank.

Spent clip with the good stuff removed.
  Replacement TT engine.

 My full-of-crap garage.
NA in various states of disassembly.

How many transmissions can you find in this pic?
More pics of the second engine.

Start of timing belt, water pump, etc. replacement.
Swapped my NA cam sprockets over since they were in better shape.
Waiting to go into the Z.
NA engine with front components off.
Pulling oil pan to knock out dent and replace pickup o-ring. Someone liked red RTV.
  Pick an engine, any engine….
NA with motor out ready to be prepped for TT engine.
The obligatory “in the empty engine bay” shot. Yes, I look rough, yes I have been working on the Z for a long time at this point :-)
New harness through firewall. Talk about a bitch.
  VG’s and Z’s.
  RPS lightweight segmented flywheel.
  RPS 6-Puck Sport clutch.
  RPS pressure plate. Ooooh, shiny!
  Evil-Bay down pipes.
NA ready for TT engine. Or so I thought……

TT engine ready to go into NA. This was the last point that anything went smoothly.
TT engine going into the NA for the first of many times, lol.
Imagine my naiveté thinking I could get the motor in once and leave it there :-)
This shot was when the motor finally stayed in.
Harness laid in place and connected.
  It’s a TwinTurbo Z!!!!!!

Money Shot. I need a new plate.
Blow off valves that came on the clip.
Next 2 pics are when I first started her with her new engine.

Here she is right after her maiden voyage around the neighborhood.

And as she sat in the driveway.

I won’t go into how many problems I had right now, but suffice it to say, there were a LOT. I never imagined it would take so much effort and time to do the swap. It took me 3 full workweeks (Mon-Fri) putting in 3-4 hours every single night after work, plus 5 weekend days putting in closer to 10 hours. No, I didn’t clean and polish everything in the bay or on the motor. I was against a deadline or I would have. I will go back and clean it up now that I have time. Also, the pictures were just quick snapshots, not meant to be perfect or artistic. I know there are a few things I missed or forgot, or perhaps installed not quite per OEM. I will be fixing those once it warms up. TTnet and it’s members were an invaluable resource to me during the swap. Thanks to all the members that helped me with my questions, on and off the forum, and to the owners of the forum for making TTnet possible. I’d also like to thank Rick (TheSlimOne) for his hands-on help pulling both motors, stabbing the transmission, and all the other little stuff. Also my friend Truc who had an NA but has moved on to a 911. Guess you can’t fault him for that :-) There are no fluid leaks so far, but I do have some crazy idle problem. When you first start it, the idle may be OK, but if you go WOT, either driving or in neutral, the rpms won’t come back below 2.5-3K. Was quite the experience when I first went WOT and felt boost, and when I took my foot off the gas, it didn’t want to stop. I DO have a boost leak somewhere on the driver’s side; sounds like it’s below the boost piping somewhere. Please see my post in Technical here for more of what I’ve checked so far. I’d ***REALLY** appreciate any help fixing this problem, as my Z has been down for the best part of 1 or 1.5 years, and now she’s a TT, and I ***REALLY** want to be able to drive her :-) Thanks,
